Day Three
After a 300km drive on the German autobahn, it was great to get on to the picturesque Czech A-Roads, and we finally met up with all 500 cars on the rally (including the 100 from spain and the 50 from Italy).

We had a massive fancy party at a 14th century Castle in the SW of the CZECH REPUBLIC which was a great chance for everyone to dress up, exchange driving stories and get drunk!

Day Four
After not a lot of sleep (and on a hangover) we packed up camp, had a wonderful lunch and headed for BRNO, then on to the POLISH Border. The highlight of Poland was visiting AUSCHWITZ. It was great to experience with my own eyes the subject of so many documentaries. We stayed there until sunset then headed for the UKRAINE BORDER.

Day Five
We finally got into UKRAINE at 3am after a reasonsibly quick 40min border crossing. Our strategy is to do all crossings at night when car traffic is low and the temperature is cooler. It has been known on previous rallys for cars to take more than 8 hours to get through non-EU counties. After an epic 20 hour drive we ended up sleeping in the car at a service station for 3 hours, then carried on the 600 km drive to the capital. The roads in Ukraine are a mix of potholes and Soviet motorways. KIEV is a massive city and driving looks very impressive however its a city that i will have to come back and visit.

WHAT ARE WE UP TO NEXT

We are heading for the Russian Border, which will be a real taste on Mongol Sally. We can start to feel the suspension getting weaker and weaker ...... When watching Ewan Mcgregors trip around the round i remember there frustration with the bump /pot hole fest roads ...... I am starting to feel there pain! ..... We also plan to move more weight from the back to the front to help save our rear suspension.

We have driven 2100 miles since Leaving Cornwall and driving through 7 countries including FRANCE BELGIUM HOLLAND GERMANY CZECH REPUBLIC POLAND UKRAINE

We have not had a Shower for the past 72 hours

Between us we have drunk 27 cans of Red Bull or simular energy drink.
